Roberts Announces Three New Underlayments

Roberts® is proud to announce three additions to their underlayment program, Quiet Cushion, Soft Stride and Super Felt. “With the addition of these new underlayments, we now have a full-line program and can offer total underlayment solutions to all our distributors” states Brad Miller, Roberts Director of Product Marketing.

Our Quiet Cushion Premium Acoustical Underlayment (#70-180) is made of very dense 2mm cross-linked foam that is designed to offer the best possible sound reduction for floating floors. Moisture protection, optimal floor cushioning and premium sound reduction make this underlayment the best in its class. The Quiet Cushion received one of the highest ratings for sound reduction in the industry during ∆Delta testing. The ASTM 2179 Delta test method is designed to provide data that characterize the floor covering alone when installed over concrete slab floors. Along with the excellent ∆Delta rating of 21, the Quiet Cushion also has an IIC rating of 69 and a STC rating of 67 and comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

Our Soft Stride Sound Reducing Cushion Underlayment (#70-185) is made from a slightly lower density 2 mm cross-linked foam than our Quiet Cushion. With ratings of 69 for IIC and 66 for STC, it is a very strong competitor in the underlayment market and comes with a lifetime limited warranty. For more information on Soft Stride, please go to

Rounding out our underlayment program is our Super Felt Premium Felt Underlayment (#70-190). Made from 4mm thick compressed recycled fibers, our Super Felt Underlayment is designed to reduce noise and help cushion flooring. The felt acts to absorb noise instead of deflecting it and helps to provide a deep wood sound. Super Felt has an IIC rating of 67 and a STC rating of 66 and comes with a lifetime limited warranty.
